In the english version of the series VitaDonum father Elias Leyds c.s.j. is interviewing José Antonio Ureta member of the John Paul II academy of human life and the family (JAHLF). José Antonio is explaining how the synod of Synodality is being prepared, how the process works and what cab be expected. Ge explains the threats which are currenly being developed towards the integrity of the Catholic Faith.

Is it just coincidence that Pope Francis has just now visited Kinshasa Democratic Republic of Congo, since it was exactly 50 years ago that there was a conference held on theology, that produced a concluding document with a wish of having in the church groups of lay people selected by the communities, that should take care of celebrating the Holy Mass? Basically following the practice in most protestant churches and  inline with the writings of e.g.the South American Liberation theologianand former Priest Leonardo Boff.

It is not without reason that late Cardinal Ratzinger, Pope Benedictus XVI wrote an explicit instruction on the collaboration of lay people in the Holy Mass , making a distinction between priests and lay people in celebrating the sacraments.

At the end of the discussion an intersting notion is being discussed on the possibility that this group of quite progressive Cardinals is becoming victim of their own success, through internal division, being developed in collision of human attitudes, moments of strong emotional ‘personal revelation’ and pride of the various progressive actors.
