August, 2nd 2023 – Father Elias Leyds C.S.J. started a couple of weeks ago in Filioque in English a new chapter of short reflections on the world we are living in, both outside and inside the church.
The theme of ‘Aggiornamento’, popular with the 2nd Vatican Council, seems to be exchanged for ‘Appeasement‘. An appeasement which harms the church and its doctrines, an example where Winston Churchill would say: don’t feed the crocodile
He shall discuss three spheres of appeasement: (1) Marriage, family and fertility, (2) Religious freedom and (3) Ecumenical relations with the patriarchate of Moscow.
This part is about Religious freedom, which is a contradiction in itself because religion is not something you choose, it is not a cultural phenomena or human activity. It is a moral virtue and part of human ethics, when man wants to reach a goal in life.
Religion is a personal virtue, part of justice and the ‘thirst for justice‘, that makes you capable of doing what is necessary. We can doscover that God has to exist as an omnipotent being, by which we can discover our own human pupose in life. And he deserves our gratitude because we exist.
Human freedom comes up, when we choose which revelation to follow: freedom of choice.
